Salinization, acidification and loss of organic matter are common forms of soil deterioration. Many soils are low in organic matter needed for nutrient transfer potential. Aggregation - binding small soil particles into larger aggregates - is important for good soil structure, aeration, water infiltration and resistance to erosion and crusting. Use of Orykta™ improves overall soil health by supplying vital trace minerals to the soil in available forms, increasing aggregation, providing for increased water intake, and decreasing nutrient loss. By treating soils with Orykta™, nutrients are made available to plants directly in the root zone.

Soils with low rainfall and excessive sodium (Na+) decrease leaching. The pH of these soils can be as high as 9 to 10. In these soils gypsum is often used to lower sodium in an attempt to reclaim the soil. Using Orykta™, however, which contains gypsum as well as a multitude of essential trace minerals, allows these soils to be turned back into productive land. Soils treated with Orykta™ have improved soil structure with pH balanced at optimal levels.
